Welcome to Family Safeguarding Assessments (FSA)

At Family Safeguarding Assessments (FSA), we understand the importance of keeping families together while ensuring the safety and well-being of babies, children and adolescents. Our mission is to provide comprehensive and fair assessments within the comfort of the family home, aligning with UK children’s safeguarding policies and best practices.

Child development is deeply influenced by the stability and security of the environment, and attachment plays a crucial role in fostering a child’s emotional and psychological growth. At FSA, we believe that minimising disruptions in a child or young person’s life is paramount to their well-being. Therefore, we prioritise and ensure that children and young people can maintain their regular routines, including attending their schools, after-school programs and activities they are familiar with family and friends, in their local community.

By doing so, we help preserve the familiar structure and social connections that are vital to their sense of security and normalcy. Our Family Support Workers (FSWs) play an integral role in this process. They not only attend these activities to observe and ensure the child’s safety and well-being but also to foster a supportive presence that reassures the children and their parents.

During observations and direct work with parents, FSWs skilfully capture the interactions between parents and their children, providing valuable insights into the dynamics within all family relationships. This allows us to offer tailored support and advice, aimed at strengthening family bonds and promoting a nurturing and safe family environment. Our goal is to empower families with the tools and guidance necessary to foster healthy attachments, which are foundational to a child’s emotional resilience and overall development.

By maintaining continuity in children and young people’s daily lives and providing consistent support, we strive to create a stable and loving environment that promotes the best possible outcomes for every child and young person. At FSA, we are committed to advancing the safety and well-being of families, recognising that a stable and supportive home life is the cornerstone to a child’s healthy development and future functioning.
